The No. 9 Badgers defeated the Gee-Gees, continuing their winning streak.
On Friday, Nov. 29, the Brock Badgers women’s volleyball team battled their way to a 3-0 (27-25, 25-17, 25-11) win against the Ottawa Gee-Gees.
Fourth-year outside hitter Laurin Ainsworth led the Badgers with 16 points off of 14 kills, one ace and two block assists while Emily Foest had eight kills.
In the first set Brock brought the intensity, as they held off a late comeback from Ottawa and emerged victorious 27-25 thanks to Foest and her six-kill effort.
The second set saw the Badgers build off their momentum in the previous set and score seven straight points to close out a dominant 25-17 win.
Improving their play every set, the Badgers took an early 13-5 lead and never looked back, as their defensive efforts allowed the Gee-Gees to score only 11 points as they took the third set 25-11.
Mackenna Knox led all players with 22 assists in the match.
Brock led the hitting tallies with a .436 hitting percentage while Ottawa had a .188 hitting percentage.
