Don Dulder keeps getting better with age.
What started as a retirement gig for the long-time volleyball coach became a decade-long quest for MCAC success.
As far as regular seasons go, Dulder just completed his best one yet.
After leading the Canadian Mennonite University Blazers to a 17-1 record, Dulder is the MCAC men’s volleyball coach of the year.
“I am very thankful to have had the opportunity to be coached by Don,” said Blazers captain Josh Werbiski. “Not only does he bring endless experience and planning to practice, but he also is one of the most caring individuals I’ve met both on the court and off. I’m glad I’m able to play for this milestone of his coaching career.”
The CCAA’s seventh-ranked Blazers enter this weekend’s final four as the top seed, taking on the Université de Saint-Boniface Les Rouges on Saturday at 4 p.m.
The host Providence University College Pilots play the Assiniboine Community College Cougars in the second semifinal at 6 p.m.
The final is on Sunday at 3 p.m. All matches are at Niverville’s Community Resource Recreation Centre.
The league MVP and all-conference team will be announced on Friday.
