The Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference (MCAC) volleyball season played 18 regular season games in 2022-23. The Coach of the Year award winners led their teams to a strong season finish and top of the standings and they now prepare for MCAC Championship weekend which runs on February 25-26 hosted by Université de Saint-Boniface (USB) Les Rouges.
2022-23 MCAC Women’s Volleyball Coach of the Year: Kyle Guenther – Providence University College (PUC) Pilots
“Players have always valued playing for Kyle as it becomes evident very quickly that he cares deeply about building up his players, both within the sport of volleyball but also as people. Kyle has consistently created a positive environment for his teams where his players are given the support needed to rise to their potential. This past season has been no exception as Kyle has led the team to finish the regular season in 2nd place, with some of their strongest play of the season taking place when it matters most. They are going into the championships with a lot of confidence and that is certainly the kind of mentality we want our coaches and teams to have as we head into playoffs. Kyle has put in a lot of time and effort over the years and his teams have consistently been tough teams to play against and this recognition is very well deserved. We are extremely proud of Kyle and the leadership he has brought to our women’s volleyball program.” – Scott Masterson, PUC Pilots Vice President Operations, Director of Athletics
Kyle Guenther – 7th season: Guided the Pilots to a second place regular season record of 9-9 this season; had three plus twice with two match winning streak; two All Conference players on the roster
