Camosun Chargers @ Capilano Blues – Friday February 17, 8:00pm | WATCH HERE

With just two matches remaining in the 2022-2023 regular season the Chargers are headed to the PACWEST championship tournament while the Blues are not. The two lock horns this weekend in a doubleheader.

The Chargers will be the top seed at the PACWEST championship next week, but their semi-final opponent is still yet to be determined. Earlier this week the Chargers were named the hosts of the 2024 men’s CCAA national championship tournament…they are hoping that they are defending a back-to-back title when that rolls around. They have won nine straight coming into this weekend and swept the Blues winning six sets in a row in their first meeting in November. They are the hottest team in the country since turning the calendar to 2023, dropping only three sets.

The Blues have been better as of late winning two of their four matches, both in a thrilling fifth set. They will miss the PACWEST playoffs this season so this upcoming weekend the preparation for next year begins. They no doubt want to perform well in front of their hometown fans on this final weekend of the season.

CBC Bearcats @ VIU Mariners – Friday February 17, 8:00pm | WATCH HERE

The Mariners need to win one of their next two matches with the Bearcats this weekend to clinch third place in the standings heading into the PACWEST playoffs. A third-place finish would set them up for a semi-final against the COTR Avalanche.

Earlier this season the Mariners just snuck by the Bearcats at CBC in back-to-back matches winning in a deciding fifth set. As a matter of fact, the Mariners needed to win the fourth set to force a fifth in both matches. In those fifth sets they won each by a 15-13 score. They are struggling here in the month of February however, winning once in their last four matches.

The Bearcats are looking to finish the season on a high note and steal a win or two at VIU. They have lost three straight, all of them at home so are hoping a change of scenery could help.
