Capilano Blues @ Douglas Royals – Friday February 10, 8:00pm | WATCH HERE
The Royals and Blues will meet for a weekend doubleheader in men’s volleyball which opens on Friday night with eight points separating them in the standings.
It’s the Royals that currently hold down the final playoff spot and have won four of their last five matches. They swept the Blues earlier this season, winning in five and four sets respectively. If they beat the Blues on Friday night they will clinch the final playoff spot and eliminate the Blues from the post season. That said, they are only two points back of the VIU Mariners for third place in the standings, but the Mariners have a match in hand. Both teams are trying to avoid facing the top ranked Camosun Chargers in a semi-final. Basically for the Royals, Friday night is a must win with time running out.
On the other side the Blues are not done yet. If they can win outright and get a bit of help they could find themselves in the playoffs. It’s a longshot, but stranger things have happened. They are coming off a split at CBC last weekend in a pair of five-set matches. This weekend will be their final road matches before finishing up at home next week.

COTR Avalanche @ CBC Bearcats – Friday February 10, 8:00pm | WATCH HERE
The COTR Avalanche will play three matches in three days to wrap up the regular season and it begins with back-to-back matches at CBC on Friday night. The Avalanche are coming off a bye weekend but did win their last match the week before. Regardless of the outcome they know they will play in front of the hometown crowd at the PACWEST championship tournament in two weeks. They took down the Bearcats in the first weekend of the season in back-to-back four set victories.
The Bearcats will play their final home weekend of the season and want to leave the hometown crowd with something to cheer about. They are coming off a split last weekend, hosting the Capilano Blues in a pair of five-set thrillers. They are looking to spoil the Avalanche’s bid for second place.
