Men’s Volleyball

The Men’s Volleyball team delivered a stellar performance in the recently concluded season, securing a commendable 2nd place at the end of the regular season in the highly competitive Canada West conference. With an impressive record of 17 wins and 7 losses, they demonstrated consistent excellence throughout the season.

The team faced a tough challenge in the Canada West quarterfinals, where they engaged in a thrilling three-game series against Winnipeg. Despite their formidable efforts, they lost in the decisive third game, ending their playoff journey. The season bid farewell to seven graduating seniors, each leaving an indelible mark on the team’s legacy: Jacob van Geel, Chris Byam, Luis Lange, Jace Timmer, Cody Boulding, Max Haronga, and Griffin Butler.

Individual brilliance was recognized, with Chris Byam earning a well-deserved spot on the Canada West first team and Luis Lange securing a place on the second team. As the team prepares for the upcoming season, a new core is set to take the reins, ensuring a promising future and the continuation of the team’s proud tradition of excellence.

Women’s Volleyball:

In the 2023-2024 Women’s Volleyball season, our team faced both challenges and opportunities. Despite a valiant effort, we secured the 12th position in the highly competitive Canada West conference, concluding the season with a record of 8 wins and 16 losses. Unfortunately, our playoff aspirations were not realized as we narrowly missed the cut.

The departure of two impactful seniors, Jessica Osczevski and Sarah McKillican, leaves a void in leadership and on-court prowess. Their contributions will be dearly missed, but their legacy serves as an inspiration for the aspiring athletes in our team.

Looking ahead to the next season, there is optimism as the core team remains largely intact. The continuity in the roster provides an opportunity for enhanced cohesion and chemistry on the court. Two promising players, Fiona Brown and Sydney Scatcherd, are anticipated to step up and fill the vacant roles left by our graduating seniors. Their skill sets and dedication are expected to contribute significantly to the team’s success.

As we reflect on the past season, we recognize the areas for improvement and growth. With a resilient spirit and a commitment to excellence, we eagerly anticipate the challenges and triumphs that the upcoming season will bring.
