Game two of the men’s semifinals saw the St. Thomas University Tommies up against the Holland College Hurricanes, battling for a spot in the championship match.
Both teams put up strong performances as STU took the first two sets, looking like they would take it in three. The Hurricanes stayed solid on defence and made great offensive plays to bring them back in it.
Carson Gray was essential to helping the Hurricanes regain momentum with 14 kills and 18 digs, bringing the teams to a fifth set. It was no easy defeat, and the Tommies and Hurricanes went back and forth point for point. The Tommies came away victorious with 9 kills from Brenton Romanchuk, securing the teams spot in the championship game on Sunday, February 25.
