Jan. 11 2023: Volleyball Canada is inviting applications for the next edition of the men’s National Excellence Program, which will run from September 6 to December 15, 2023.
The National Excellence Program (NEP) is designed to prepare high-school aged (Grades 10 to 12 or equivalent) athletes to perform at the highest level of our sport and to continue their development toward the National Senior Team Program and/or playing professional volleyball. The program offers individual technical and tactical skill development as well as team play refinement.
“We are really excited to launch the next season of NEP,” said men’s Next Gen coach Dan Lewis. This is the second year for the men’s NEP program, based in Ottawa-Gatineau. (Photo: 2022 NEP participants).
“Last year, we had an excellent group of athletes from all over Canada training, competing and growing together. I look forward to selecting the next group of NEP athletes.”
Athletes are exposed to an array of sport science and sport medicine services, dispensed by leading Canadian practitioners in a holistic high-performance environment. The program integrates online learning to support excellence in academics while managing a high-performance training load. NEP athletes, through training and exhibition competition, are also introduced to leading international volleyball programs and clubs.
