In women’s volleyball, the Alberta Pandas (4-0) have usurped the Trinity Western Spartans (2-0) for the top seed in the U SPORTS women’s volleyball rankings.
The No.1 Pandas have started the season on a roll with four-straight wins. Most recently, the Pandas topped the No. 8 Mount Royal Cougars (2-2) 3-1 then cruised past the MacEwan Griffins (0-4) in straight sets to earn the nation’s top spot. In the Panda’s victory over MRU, head coach Laurie Eisler became the winningest coach in University of Alberta history with 417 wins.
The No.1 Trinity Western Spartans (2-0) enter the second week of men’s volleyball rankings as the top seed after being idle in conference play. The Spartans are currently on a California tour, where they’ve gone 5-1 against some of the best teams in NCAA volleyball.
