LANGLEY, B.C. – Trinity Western outside-hitter Savannah Purdy (Victoria) has been named Canada West’s Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week after leading the 20-2 Spartans in their weekend sweep of Thompson Rivers.
Purdy posted game-highs in kills on both Friday (12) and Saturday (11), doing so efficiently with a total hitting percentage of .392. Purdy also added seven aces and 10 digs in her repertoire for the weekend.
Throughout the duration of the 2022-23 season, Purdy has been excellent. The fourth-year graduating senior sits in the upper echelon of multiple Canada West leaderboards for hitting percentage (9th, .280) and service aces (4th, 0.46/set).
With these performances, the Spartans clinched the first spot in Canada West for the fourth consecutive season after Saturday’s victory. With this berth, the Spartans have a chance to host all of their Canada West playoff matches.
The Spartans take on Brandon (0-22) to end their regular season.
