The McMaster Marauders women’s volleyball team is gearing up for their home opener against the Brock Badgers in the second of a two-game series.
The match will take place on Nov. 21. at 1pm in the Burridge Gym, following an away game against the Badgers on Nov. 19. at 6pm.
Coming off back-to-back wins against the Lakehead Thunderwolves, the number-one Marauders are now 2-0 in the regular season, two spots ahead of Brock in the West Division.
Not only are the Marauders undefeated in matches, but they haven’t lost a single set, having swept the Thunderwolves in both games in Thunder Bay.

History:
The Marauders last faced the Badgers in a two-game series at the end of January 2020. McMaster fell 3-0 to Brock in an away game on Jan. 26 but came back strong to start a home game against the rivals on Jan. 31, taking the first set 25-15. However, the then top-ranked Badgers came back to win the next three sets.
McMaster finished the 2019-2020 season 8-11, sitting five spots behind the first place Badgers in the OUA West Division. Brock went on to lose to the Toronto Varsity Blues in the OUA Championship match.
So far this season, the Marauders are proving to be one of the best teams in their division, having won every game so far, including an exhibition game against Toronto, the reigning OUA champions.
The Marauders last won an OUA Championship in the 2016-2017 season after defeating the Western Mustangs in five sets.

McMaster
Emma McKinnon: As McMaster’s top offensive player, McKinnon currently has 22 kills in 45 attempts. She currently has a hitting percentage of .311.
Hayley Brookes: The second-year libero has the most digs on her team with 23 so far this season, as well as 10 assists.
Brock
Sadie Dick: With a hitting percentage of .440, Dick is Brock’s best offensive player. She also leads her team in kills with 13 in their first game.
Sara Rohr: As Brock’s starting setter Rohr has 34 total assists this season, the most for her team. She also tops her squad in aces with three.
