WINDSOR, Ont. – Last night’s impressive 3-0 win against the Windsor Lancers was followed up by another 3-0 performance today. The Marauders completely dominated the Lancers throughout the game and continue to blaze through the season, as they now have five straight wins.
Windsor started off the game much better than they had last night. Both teams were neck and neck in the first set, taking turns gaining momentum from scoring runs. McMaster made some unforced errors which helped the Lancers stay close behind, but the Marauders fought to take the set 27-25. Middle Ellie Hatashita recorded an impressive 5 kills in the first set. They kept their foot on the gas for the second set, holding a sizeable lead throughout. The Lancers almost came back towards the end but McMaster won 25-21. Windsor tried their best in the third set to take the lead. Their presence at the net was much better than yesterday and they played solid defense against the lethal McMaster attacks. But the Marauders inevitably put it away as they won the final set 25-20.
This weekend’s games went just how the Marauders wanted it. Many players had dominant performances, like Ellie Hatashita who had 10 kills, 1 ace, and 1 block, as well as Sullie Sundara who had 12 kills, 1 ace, and 6 digs. The women are flying right now. They hope to continue this form for the rest of the season. Catch them at home as they take on the TMU Bold next Saturday.
