The Canadian National sitting teams were in action May 9-13 in Edmonton for the ParaVolley PanAmerica Zonal Championships in pursuit of 2024 Paralympic qualification. The men’s team defeated Argentina on the final day to take the bronze medal while the women’s sitting team ended their tournament with a victory as well, taking the United States to five sets.
The Canadian teams did not clinch a spot for the Paris 2024 Paralympics; however, there will be future opportunities for them to do so. The teams will regroup over the summer in preparation for the World Cup in November, their next opportunity to qualify.
Brazil (men) and the United States (women) took home the gold in their tournaments.
