2024-25 Gryphons Men’s & Women’s Volleyball Schedule Announced

GUELPH, Ont. – On Thursday, July 4, 2024, Ontario University Athletics (OUA) released the 2024-25 schedules for men’s and women’s volleyball. The Guelph Gryphons men’s and women’s volleyball teams will get their 2024 campaigns underway with a double header on home soil, hosting the Waterloo Warriors at the Guelph Gryphons Athletics Centre on October 25, 2024. The Gryphons women’s and men’s volleyball teams will once again play a 20-game regular season schedule, with the 2024 OUA volleyball playoffs set to begin in late February (quarterfinal round of the OUA playoffs beginning on Saturday, February 22, 2025).  The 2024 OUA playoffs will culminate on Friday, March 7, 2025, with the playing of the Quigley Cup (women’s OUA championship game) and Forsyth Cup (men’s OUA championship game). Both the U of G men’s and women’s volleyball programs are coming off of strong seasons in 2023-24. The Gryphon men put together an unforgettable campaign a season ago, setting a program-record for wins in a season (15) while capturing OUA bronze and earning a trip to the U SPORTS national championship tournament for the first time since the 1987-88 season. The Gryphon women, meanwhile, graduated just a single player from last season’s squad that posted a 12-8 record during the regular season and reached the OUA quarterfinals as the No. 6-seed in the conference. Should the Gryphons earn a trip to nationals in March of 2025, the Gryphons would be Manitoba-bound, with Brandon University hosting the men’s volleyball national championships, while the University of Manitoba are set to host the women’s national championships. For more information on the rest of the OUA Men’s and Women’s Volleyball schedule visit oua.ca.
