Women in Officiating Weekend

Women in Officiating Weekend is back for its 2nd year! 

 

On March 25th & 26th, the WOW event will be heading back to the Saville Centre in Edmonton for the 17U/18U Girls Premier #3. This Volleyball Alberta Referees WOW event will focus on the females in our sport and provide the foundation for all to succeed in years to come. 

 

During this WOW event, Volleyball Alberta Referees will have an up and down referee on every match.  As well, there will be more Supervisors around the facility to give feedback to all the referees.  This event is not only seen as an opportunity to showcase our amazing female referees in the province, but also a chance to aid in referee development of these women.  Finally, the referees will look a little different as they will be sporting their WOW shirts instead of the traditional VC uniform polo.  

 

We are looking forward to seeing everyone come together for the second annual Woman in Officiating Weekend! 

 

The Volleyball community in Alberta is one big family, and all members are important, regardless of gender. Thank you to all of our referees and this weekend, a special shout-out to the women who help shape our sport.
